Hannah just finished a unit on dots and art made with dots. It all started with International Dot day, and the kids were hooked. They studied the Heidelberg Project (The Dotty Wotty House), Kandinsky, mandalas, and more. They went on field trips to the Heidelberg Project, DIA and Arts and Scraps. Today, they had a beautiful video capturing all of the kids work during the unit, and the kids then led us through a gallery of all of their creations during their study of dots. The Heidelberg inspired art included painted shoes, tires, and even an oven. It was such a lovely morning, and as usual Hannah's teachers went above and beyond. They even served doughnut holes (more dots). Hannah was lucky to have mommy, daddy, Mina and Poppy Hal come for the big day.

Blackman/Bolton Hanukkah Party
We celebrated Hanukkah with Jordan's family tonight, and Hannah and Ella had the best time playing with their cousins (and their cousins toys too).

Hannukah Begins!
We exchanged gifts with Macy and Lilah this morning, and Hannah is LOVING Hannukah. Aunt Sara picked out a bunch of My Little Pony things for Hannah, and she was so excited. The rest of the girls really didn't seem to get it, or care about opening their gifts, but eventually everything got opened. Ella and Lilah were more excited about the food - typical. It was a great start to Hannukah 2013!

Playdate with Charli
Hannah has been missing her buddies Brooke and Charli, and wanted to have them over after school. I suggested we have them both together, but Hannah wanted special time with each. Charli came over this week, and Brooke (and Kendyl too I think) are coming next week. We ate dinner, played in the playroom and did lots of craft projects. It was so nice to catch up with Charli!

Trip to A2
We went to the Ann Arbor Hands On Museum this morning with our friends the Gafni-Pappas'. It was our first visit and the girls loved exploring. Hannah loved the giant bubble makers, and Ella was a big fan of the ambulance - she must feel comfortable there after the past year. We will definitely go back again soon when we have more time to explore! After the museum, Os and I took the little girls to Blue Nile for lunch, while the boys took the big girls to What Crepe? The girls were beat and both crashed in the car on our ride home.
Fall Party
Hannah's school had their fall party last night and the girls ate cupcakes, made crafts, got airbrush tattoos, and danced with the DJ. They go all out for these parties, and the girls loved every minute of it! Hannah has been picking her outfits, and then asks me to take a picture because she is so proud of her fashion sense (or lack of...).

Family Fun Night
Ella's school had a family fun night where Hannah and Ella both got to catch up with friends, and paint canvasses. Ella did her picture all by herself, and Hannah asked me to draw her a heart and took it from there. Hannah was the first to start and last to finish her picture - this girl loves her art!

Cider Mill and Nate's 4th!
We had a great weekend with family and friends. Aunt Steph, Unky Mike and I headed to the cider mill on Saturday with Ella, and despite the cold/rainy weather we had a nice visit.
On Sunday, we celebrated Nate's 4th birthday making pizzas, decorating aprons and making cupcakes. They also had a bounce house which both girls loved. Happy 4th birthday, Nate!
