We had a wonderful time in South Haven with our immediate family of 23 on the Bolton/Blackman side. Softa and Zaydie rented a fantastic house right on Lake Michigan with our own pool. The lake was too cold, but the kids were in the pool for hours at a time (mine were sometimes naked... good thing we just potty trained Ella!). Hannah swam completely on her own, jumping into the deep end with the big kids and swimming around from there. Ella was equally bold, but not yet ready to swim solo. She can go about 10-15 feet on her own already, and is an even bigger fish than Hannah was at 2. She is fearless! We also did a ton of art at a place called Express Yourself Art Barn. Hannah made a mosaic mirror, 3 painted figurines and a beaded necklace. She would have stayed all day if I had the funds to buy more projects!
Ella and I had a nice day at Nellis Dutch Village with Macy, Lilah and Aunt Sara. The highlight was the carousel which Ella rode 4 times, the duck race where you pumped water to push the duck through tubes, and the petting farm.
We had nice family meals, naps (even Hannah!), walks, mani/pedis, campfires and bike rides. All of the kids got along great, and Hannah and Ella actually slept! We stayed an extra night because we were all having such a nice time - it was a great family weekend. Thanks, Softa and Zaydie.
