Back to School

Hannah had her first day in the Toddler Room today and she did great!  She had a rough time with drop off, but recovered quickly and enjoyed doing all of the big girl activities.

New things in the Toddler Room:

• Washes her own hands when she gets to school
• Eats lunch at a table sitting in a chair with all of her classmates
• Does an art project each day
• Goes outside for "recess" twice a day
• Naps on a cot (shocking that all of these toddlers stay on their cots!)
• Learns about a new topic each day (eg. shapes, colors, etc.)

We are so excited that Hannah has her two best friends in her room this year, Charli and Brooke!  Charli was in the infant room with Hannah, and Brooke just started this year. The girls are a riot together.  Jess shot some cute pictures of them on their first day of school.  Thanks, Jess.  Hannah was EXHAUSTED when she got home today - long day of playing.  She has a rough life...

Petting Zoo

Our neighbor's had a petting zoo for their daughter's birthday, and Hannah loved all of the animals.  There were ponies, goats, rabbits, roosters, deer and an alpaca.  Hannah had her first pony ride, and was scared out of her mind...  She did love petting the ponies though.

Back to School with Nana

My mom's school had a back to school pool party for the staff, and Hannah was a big fan!  She loved the kiddie pool, and eventually worked up the nerve to go down the water slide all by herself.  One of my mom's co-workers grandson was there and he and Hannah had a great time splashing together.  After her big swim, Hannah was starving and polished off 1 1/2 hot dogs at the BBQ.  I don't think she has ever consumed that much food in one sitting.

At the Zoo

Aunt Sara and Uncle Ian took Hannah and Macy to the Zoo yesterday and she had a great time with them as always!  She still liked the Arctic Ring of Life best.  Apparently Macy fell asleep and Hannah kept calling her name to wake her because she didn't want her baby cousin to miss anything.

 

Hannah's Weekend

Hannah had a busy weekend! On Friday, she hung out with Aunt Sara, Uncle Ian and Macy at the sprinkler park and Jordan met up with them for dinner. Saturday, Hannah and Jordan had breakfast with our neighbors and headed to a dream cruise party with her buddies Asher and Brock. Yesterday was pretty low key - we hung out at the house all afternoon and played on the neighbor's trampoline.

Girls' Weekend

Rachael, Linde and I went to Holland for the weekend for a relaxing girls trip.  We walked through all of the SW Michigan  towns, did a wine tasting, ate great meals and went to a dualing piano bar in Grand Rapids to see Rachael's brother perform.  On our drive home yesterday, we stopped in Saugatuck for the Taste of Saugatuck and it was fantastic.  We are hoping to go back next year for the same weekend and plan to stay in Saugatuck.  It was a great weekend, but it was nice to get home to Hannah and Jordan.

18 Month Stats

Hannah is still a peanut, and still HATES the doctor!  As soon as she sees someone in a white coat, it's over.
