We finished our night at the fair with the Hays. It has become an annual tradition for the girls to ride the carousel together, and this year Ella and Kendyl got to join in too. After riding a few rides, we headed to Salvatore Scaloppini for a busy (read as girls would not sit still), but nice evening. Unfortunately, the Pulis' couldn't join this year but for good reason. They had a baby BOY yesterday, Samuel, and were having some family time at the hospital. It's about time after six girls between us. Welcome baby Samuel, I hope you like to wear princess dresses so you can fit in with all of these ladies! I guess they could use a prince... he will be so in demand.

Birmingham Fair
We met up with Aunt Sara, Macy, Lilah and Unky Ian at the Birmingham Fair, and despite an overcast day the weather held and we had a great night. Macy and Hannah rode all of the little kid rides, including a rollercoaster that they had to go on with some older girls in line behind us since they were too small to go alone. The older girls were very sweet and took great care of them. They also went on this frog hopper ride - picture a kiddie version of the Demon Drop - and Hannah was all smiles and giggles for the first half, and then cried the last. She is definitely not a daredevil! Poor Ella and Lilah were too short for most of the rides, but got to enjoy the super slide (again, big girls rode with some very nice strangers), spinning bears, train, and carousel. We also took a break to play on the playground, watch the fountain and have family sucker time.

Pools Open?
We went to Knollwood for the Memorial Day festivities, and while it was way too cold for swimming, the girls still enjoyed the morning. They played in the sandbox, climbed the playstructure, jumped in the bounce house and got balloon flowers and tattoos. It was Ella's first airbrush tattoo, and she is really enjoying showing it off. Looking forward to some pool weather soon!

St Mary's Fair
We met up with the Dunns and McAbees for the St Mary's Fair. It was another first for Ella, which she loved except for when she was too short for a ride that Hannah wanted to go on. Ozzy and Hannah were again thrilled to see each other. Apparently Ozzy told Carley that Hannah would be his girlfriend when they are older. I wish him luck! Jordan cracked up and said that they would be the couple that constantly broke up and got back together because they are two peas in a pod. We all thought it was hilarious when they chose the boat that said "Lil Brat" at the fair today.
After finishing the rides, the kids went to the "Lucky Duck" booth and both "won" big inflatables. Ella chose a dolphin, and Hannah got a Dora star. We finished our morning with a cotton candy before heading home for nap. Hannah asked why we can't go to the fair everyday - I guess she didn't look at the outrageous prices!

Kicking Off Memorial Day Weekend
We have had a great Memorial Day weekend so far! Yesterday, we had some friends over for a BBQ - The Lindens and Dunns. The Lindens brought cupcakes which were a huge hit. All six kids played great, and the adults got the chance to catch up too.
Today, we met up with the McAbees at the Zoo. Hannah and Ozzy were so excited to see each other. Hannah really prefers to hang out with girls these days, but Ozzy is definitely the exception. Even in school photos posted on Hannah's teacher's blog, I have found photos of the two of them sitting together. Ella loved her first train ride (she probably went last year, but didn't remember it) and Hannah was thrilled that it had finally opened for the season. All four kids enjoyed the carousel. Now everyone is napping, and I think I will join them!

Trike-A-Thon
Ella had her school trike-a-thon last week, and both girls had a great time there with daddy. I was in Columbus for work, so unfortunately the family photographer wasn't there to get pictures. Thankfully, Aunt Sara and Stef got a couple for me. You can see Ella and Jordan coming up the sidewalk behind Hannah in the first picture. Apparently Hannah's shirt is still a little too big on her...

Brunch/Pool Party
We had some friends over for brunch, and since it is such a beautiful day we got out the pool and water toys. This was Ella's first season as a "big kid" and she loved it! I bought popsicles for the kids, and Ella was in heaven. It was her first popsicle and she was definitely a fan. Hannah had many water fights with the boys, and the adults were getting sprayed quite a bit too. I love summer!
