2 Year Stats

We had a great doctors appointment.  For the first time ever, Hannah barely cried.  I was so proud of her!  Everyone at the offiice was shocked by her good behavior, since she has developed quite the reputation there...

Hannah is still skinny, but she has been battling a virus all week and has had no appetite.  Otherwise, I think we would have had a good weigh in this time.

Stats:

Height: 33.5 in (25-50%)
Weight: 23.25 lbs (10-25%)

Baby Josephine

We got to meet baby Josephine last weekend, and Hannah was very interested in Charli's new baby sister.  It's hard to believe Hannah was ever so small!

Spring!!!

We took advantage of this fantastic spring weather and headed to the Zoo with cousin Macy and Aunt Sara.  After having a mommy sick in bed all week, Hannah was excited to get out and play.  As usual, the girls favorite exhibit was the Arctic Ring of Life.  What a great way to spend a warm late Winter day!

Sit N' Spin with Mina

Here is Hannah on the Sit N' Spin with Mina, in her cupcake pjs.  Whenever she wears her cupcake pjs, she pinches off the cupcakes and feeds them to anyone around.  Sadie has eaten many virtual cupcakes, and always looks quite disappointed.

Happy Valentine's Day

Hannah got great valentine's from her friends at school, and a few of them had tattoos. Here she is showing them off.

Birthday Party at Franklin

Hannah had the best 2nd birthday!  She never stopped grinning from the time we got to Franklin until getting into bed tonight.  She knew it was her big day, and sang happy birthday to herself all day.  She loved jumping in the bounce houses with all of her friends, eating her birthday cupcakes and cake, and opening all of her great new toys.  What an amazing day - happy 2nd birthday Hannah! I accidently deleted the video of everyone singing Happy Birthday, and Hannah blowing out her candle. I am so disappointed because she was so excited for everyone to sing to her! I guess there is always next year...

Uncle Ian tried to steal the birthday girl, but we busted him when her head popped out.

Happy 2nd Birthday Hannah!

It is hard to believe that Hannah will be two years old tomorrow.  I will update with pictures and videos from her party tomorrow evening, but wanted to give an update.  I printed the blog in a bound version a few months ago, and plan to do it again in a year or two so that Hannah will have it as her baby book.  With that in mind, I want to capture some of her interests and milestones at age 2.

  • Sings constantly: ABCs (she knows the whole thing), Twinkle Twinkle, Ring Around the Rosie, Row, Row, Row Your Boat, Happy Birthday, Baa Baa, Black Sheep
  • Talks when she isn't singing - Hannah has an opinion about EVERYTHING and her vocabulary amazes me
  • Counts to 15
  • Tells you her age, and first and last name
  • Walks up and down stairs if you hold her hand - can do short flights herself
  • Has peed on the potty three times
  • Has memorized the majority of her books and reads them by herself
  • Can blow out her own candles - we've been practicing
  • Loves her dolls - she feeds them, changes them and puts them to bed
  • Takes gymnastics class and is getting really close to doing somersaults
  • Climbs out of the pool herself if you get her to the edge
  • Is scared to death of toys that seem to come to life (Dance Star Mickey)
  • Says "bless you" whenever someone sneezes, and will always kiss your boo boos unsolicited to make you feel better
  • Loves arts and crafts, especially play dough - she always tells you "we don't eat it" when you give her play dough
  • Chews on everything still, not sure that she will ever stop (but not play dough...)
  • Loves all animals, and lately has been frustrated that the wild birds won't let her pet them
  • Watches Micky Mouse, Oso, Handy Manny and Nemo
  • Has an obsession with sprinkles, which she calls "Frinkles," but rarely eats much else
There are a million other things to say about Hannah, but I won't bore everyone.  We can't wait to see what the coming year will bring, because Hannah just gets more amazing each day.  We are lucky to have such a wonderful daughter, and can't wait to celebrate her 2nd birthday tomorrow!

Sesame Street Live

We took Macy and Hannah to Sesame Street Live this morning, and Hannah was fascinated.  At Disney on Ice, she was more interested in playing, but today she was fixed on the show.  It was a fun morning, and I'm excited to take her back next year!

First Sleepover Party

Hannah’s friend Charli is sleeping over tonight since her mommy and daddy are having a baby.  We had a great evening of playing, eating pizza (Charli housed 2.5 pieces AND 1.5 huge meatballs), and then came home to read stories and go to bed.  Charli did great!  She was scared to sleep in a new room, so I stayed in bed with her until she fell asleep.  Luckily, she was out in under 10 minutes.  We can’t wait to meet Charli’s new brother or sister!

School Birthday Party

Today is Hannah's birthday celebration at school. At circle time they will talk about her big day, and then at snack they will serve Hannah's birthday sprinkle cookies. She had one for breakfast too... Not the healthiest, but once she saw the cookies she was so excited I decided it was ok to have cookies for breakfast on special occassions like a birthday.

Sarasota

My sister and I have always celebrated birthday week, and apparently Hannah is following in our foot steps.  We went to visit Grandma Marsha in Sarasota, and Hannah got her very own birthday cake.  Good practice for next week!  Hannah devoured her cake, and also indulged in a piece of rock candy from daddy's coffee earlier in the day.  Needless to say, Hannah was bouncing off the walls from all of the sugar, and didn't want the evening to end.  On top of that, Nonna Sarah helped Hannah fill her purse with candies, and Hannah feasted the entire way back to the hotel.

Unfortunately, we didn't get to go to the beach since it was damp and rainy, but Hannah still had fun shopping on St. Armands Circle.  The fashions there are "interesting," as you can see from the picture of Hannah in her stylish hat.  The humidity there even made Hannah's hair curl up. The highlight of the trip was getting to spend time with Unky Mike and Aunt Steph who shared an adjoining room with us.  We are sad that we won't see them again until April.

Our flight home was pretty rough because a kid on the plane wouldn't stop whining and crying.  Unfortunately for us and all seated near us, it was our toddler making all of the noise.  Apparently on her tenth flight, Hannah learned that she can get away with murder on a plane because we will do anything to keep her quiet.  We are dreading the long flight to Denver...

Snow Day 2011 and Meeting Minnie

Jordan and I both stayed home to watch Hannah today and alternated hanging out with her during each others meetings.  We did sneak outside to shovel a walk for Sadie and play in the snow, and Hannah put her new snowball making skills to use.  This evening, we went to dinner with Sara, Ian and Macy, and Hannah got to meet Minnie!  At first she was excited, but then Macy got scared and Hannah followed her lead.  I was able to get a picture of Hannah with Minnie on our way out, but she was clutching me to keep her safe.  Looks like the girls aren't ready for their first trip to Disney...
